This week in season

Puget Sound recreational Dungeness crab has been open since July 2 in most Marine Areas (2 days/week in Seattle-area waters).
Tentative summer hatchery Chinook openers land in late July: Marine Area 9 (Admiralty Inlet) July 16–18, Marine Area 10 (Seattle/Bremerton) July 23–25.
The main Puget Sound halibut season ran April 2 – June 30; any late-summer re-openings depend on remaining quota.
Copper River salmon season (Alaska) runs into September, so it's still showing up at Pike Place counters — see our buying guide.

Timing is based on 2026 WDFW announcements as of mid-2026 and changes with in-season quota updates. Always check WDFW before you fish. Full detail on our seasonal calendar.
